Our Story

In 2016, I traded my 2012 BMW Z4 for a brand-new 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata ND1. As my daily driver for a long commute, I quickly realized I missed some of the convenience features I had enjoyed in the BMW. That inspired me to begin designing small upgrades to make the MX-5 more practical and enjoyable to drive every day.

The first project was an acrylic wind blocker, which quickly attracted interest from members of the Miata.net community. Other products soon followed, including a trunk popper and a phone holder, and they also became popular among fellow enthusiasts.

Encouraged by the positive response, I founded MX5things to design and manufacture innovative, high-quality products for the Mazda MX-5 and Fiat 124 Spider.

In 2021, we added a 2017 MX-5 RF to our garage and developed a roof controller with remote functionality. It became one of our most successful products, with more than 2,000 units sold.

Many of our products have been developed in response to requests and feedback from the Miata enthusiast community, helping us create solutions that owners truly want.

Today, our development fleet includes two test vehicles: a 2017 MX-5 RF GT and a 2024 MX-5 ST GT.
